Legend 90 League: Chandrapal Hemraj shines in Gujarat’s victory

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy). On the second day of the Legend 90 League being held at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur, Gujarat Samp Army made a great start to their campaign and registered an easy win over Big Boys with 18 balls to spare.
After winning the toss and opting to bat, Big Boys’ team struggled from the start and lost both their openers in the form of Sunny Singh and captain Ishaan Malhotra for just 19 runs. After which Naman Sharma, who came to bat at number four, was the only batsman of Big Boys who tried to handle the team. He scored a quick 52 runs in 29 balls with the help of 5 sixes and 2 fours, but he did not get any support from the other players and in front of Gujarat’s sharp bowling, Big Boys could only score 123 runs in the stipulated 15 overs. Miguel Cummins bowled brilliantly for Gujarat and took 2 wickets for just 10 runs in 3 overs.
In reply, both the opening batsmen of Gujarat Samp Army, Shreevats Goswami and Chandrapal Hemraj looked aggressive from the beginning. While Goswami scored 22 runs, Hemraj scored a quick 74 runs in 32 balls with the help of 6 sixes and 8 fours, taking the team to the threshold of victory and Gujarat easily won this match by 6 wickets. For this, he was awarded the Man of the Match award. Jitendra Giri was the only bowler from Big Boys who bowled well and took 2 wickets for 6 runs in 2 overs.
