Indore: India’s experienced and star cueist Pankaj Advani has won the 91st National 15-Red Snooker Championship, defeating PSPB’s Brijesh Damani 5-1 in the final. This is Advani’s 36th national title and 10th men’s snooker title.

The championship was organized by the Billiards and Snooker Federation of India, Madhya Pradesh Billiards and Snooker Association, and Yashwant Club. Advani, representing PSPB, made a remarkable comeback after a poor start to win the title.

Damani had won the first frame, but Advani didn’t let him win another. Advani maintained his consistency and accuracy throughout the match. Despite being a frame behind, he kept his cool and didn’t make any mistakes. Advani won the final frame with a break of 84, winning the match and the championship.

The scores were: 25-60, 63-52, 74-24, 78-0, 80-27, 84-8. The performance in this tournament will be the basis for selecting the Indian team for the Asian and World Championships.

Advani took revenge for his group-stage loss to Damani. Damani had beaten Advani in the group stage, but he couldn’t maintain his form against the experienced player in the final.

PSPB’s Aditya Mehta wins third place, defeats Railway’s Mohd. Hussain Khan 4-0.

Advani expressed his happiness after winning the championship. He said that this was the only tournament whose performance would be the basis for selecting the Indian representatives for international competitions. Therefore, a lot was at stake in this tournament. Advani had lost in the billiards final and hadn’t won other tournaments, so winning the gold medal here felt great.
