Legend 90 League: Another win for Delhi Royals

Bipul Sharma takes five wickets

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy). Delhi Royals registered their third win by defeating Dubai Giants by six wickets in the 14th match of Legend 90 League. In this match played at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium, Bipul Sharma did the feat of taking five wickets for the first time in the league. Due to his deadly bowling, the team of Dubai Giants could score only 97 runs by losing 9 wickets in the stipulated 15 overs, which Delhi easily achieved in 9 overs.

In the absence of the regular captain of the team Shikhar Dhawan, Bipul Sharma took over the command of the team today and destroyed the opposition camp by bowling sharply. He took 5 wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs and broke the back of the batting of Dubai Giants. Apart from Bipul, Praveen Gupta took two wickets and Parvinder Awana took one wicket.

Chasing a small target, Delhi Royals started fast as usual. Puneet Bisht played a quick innings of 32 runs in 15 balls while Angelo Perera scored 39 runs in 22 balls. In the end, Anureet Singh sealed Delhi’s victory by hitting two sixes.

Reacting to the bowling after the victory, Player of the Match Bipul Sharma said, “I had been watching Shikhar Dhawan captaining for the last four matches and tried to adopt the same strategy. The pitch was good, so I focused on giving flight to the ball in the air and bringing in variations. I was making changes in my bowling by reading the batsmen, which also benefited me.” Reacting to the playoffs, Bipul Sharma said, “We don’t think too far ahead, our aim is to play our natural game and focus on each match. If needed, we will also consider the net run rate later, but right now our focus is only on the next match.” With this win, Delhi Royals have currently reached the second position in the points table.
