Jeston shines in Young Adivasi’s win
All India Moira Gold Cup Football Tournament begins
Indore (Team Newsbuddy) : Young Adivasi Club made a strong start in the 30th All India Moira Gold Cup Football Tournament organized by Central Gymkhana Club in the memory of Prakash Sonkar and Suresh Aaran by defeating Khajrana United 3-1, thanks to two goals by Jeston. In the second match, National Club Mhow started its winning campaign by defeating Rising Star Mhow 3-2 in the tiebreaker.
Competition coordinator Bharat Mathurawala said that this competition sponsored by Moira Sariya, Sports and Youth Welfare Department of Madhya Pradesh and Indore Municipal Corporation was inaugurated with great pomp on Sunday at Nehru Stadium ground under the hospitality of Indore’s first citizen Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava. Additional Police Commissioner Amit Singh presided over the function. Mementoes were given to the two guests by Ramesh Mulchandani, Sanjay Lunawat, Bharat Mathurawala. Special guests were MIC member Nandkishore Pahariya, Manish Mama, Councilor Pushpendra Patidar and Akhil of Moira Sariya. Guests were welcomed by Mohan Captain, Atul Agarwal, Sanjay Vijayvargiya, Ramesh Khandelwal, Ravindra Rathi, Ajju Barjatya, Mahesh Patidar, Pawan Singhal, Sharad Goyal, Sunil Jolly, Abir Jolly, Manohar Mastana, Shankar Ramchandani, Manish Sonkar, Anokhi Sonkar, Anokhi Silawat, Jamna Silawat, Narayan Kharbadikar, Sheikh Hameed.
In the first match of the first phase of the competition, Young Adivasi faced the challenge of Khajrana United. Ali Khan started strongly for Khajrana by scoring a goal in the 15th minute and gave the team the lead. But this lead could not last long and in the 20th minute, Jeston scored a goal for Young Adivasi and equalized the score. It was just five more minutes when Jeston again showed his field acumen and hit the goal post of Khajrana United strongly, giving the team a 2-1 lead. The score remained the same till half time. Young Adivasi dominated in the second half as well and in the 50th minute, Jagdish scored a beautiful field goal and played an important role in giving the team a 3-1 victory.
The second match was between the two teams of Mhow. Rising Star Mhow faced the challenge of National Club Mhow. Both the teams could not score a single field goal in the stipulated time, due to which a tiebreaker had to be resorted to. In which National Club Mhow defeated Rising Star Mhow 3-2.
