Indore’s clean revolution: 100 electric waste vehicles, 6 solar tankers launched

A trailblazer in India’s Swachh Bharat Mission, Indore has taken a monumental step toward sustainable waste management. In a ceremony at the historic Rajwada, Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvergiya and Mayor Pushya Mitra Bhargava here on Wednesday dedicated 100 electric door-to-door waste collection vehicles and 6 solar-powered water tankers to the city’s residents.
These cutting-edge vehicles will enhance waste collection efficiency while significantly reducing air pollution, aligning with Indore’s vision of a cleaner, healthier urban ecosystem.
Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav said that with the launch of these eco friendly vehicles, Indore has become India’s first city to deploy clean, green, and digital waste management solutions with solar and electric vehicles—a testimony to our innovation and environmental resolve.
Kailash Vijayvargiya said, “Replacing diesel vehicles with eco-friendly alternatives is a game-changer for pollution control and public health. Soon, a cabinet meeting at Rajwada will further elevate Indore’s stature,” he added. The event was graced Madhya Pradesh Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, MP Shankar Lalwani, MLA Mahendra Hardia, and Indore City BJP President Sumit Mishra
