Appeal to citizens to be cautious

Indore (Team Newsbuddy):Extensive arrangements of vigilance and precaution are being ensured to deal with Covid-19 infection in Indore district. The citizens of the district have been requested not to panic, but to remain alert and get tested immediately if symptoms appear and take timely treatment. The situation in the district is completely under control.
This information was given in the Covid review meeting held to under the chairmanship of Collector-in-charge Gaurav Benal. Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. B.S. Saitya, Dr. Madhav Hasani and the directors of all government and non-government hospitals in the district were present in the meeting. The Covid situation from January 2025 till date was reviewed in the meeting. It was informed that during this period a total of 41 Covid positive cases have been reported in Indore district, out of which 26 patients are currently undergoing treatment while living in isolation. The condition of all the patients is said to be normal. The Health Department informed that the infection cases that are being reported at present are of a very common form like ‘Omicron BA.2-like’, in which serious symptoms are not being seen. The administration has instructed all hospitals to remain alert and follow the Covid protocol. Citizens have been appealed to use masks in crowded places, wash hands frequently and immediately contact the nearest health center if symptoms appear.

Benal directed that all necessary preparations should be made. Ensure adequate stock of essential materials and medicines. Supply chain arrangements should be ensured. RRP team should be trained. It was told that there is adequate arrangement for sampling and testing in government and non-government hospitals.

Be alert… do not panic

At present, due to change in weather, respiratory diseases are being seen due to various types of viruses etc. The currently prevalent variant of Omicron is in circulation. Due to which common symptoms like cough, sore throat along with symptoms of mild illness like fever, cold, cough, body ache are seen.
Conscious citizens have been appealed to maintain social distance in their own and public interest. Make hand washing behaviour a part of life and do not stop at public places. Elderly and people with comorbidities, people with low immunity should avoid going to less ventilated or crowded places. If it is necessary to go out, use a mask. Persons with symptoms of acute respiratory disease can monitor their health themselves. If they have difficulty in breathing and if such symptoms increase, then they should immediately reach the nearest health center
