‘How to use AI is most important now’
Indore (Team Newsbuddy): Film editor, director and writer Sunil Salgia said that after computers, Artificial Intelligence is the biggest turning point of this century. Information on AI is available from all over the world, but how it is to be used has now become important.
Salgia was talking to media persons in the Rubaru program of State Press Club, MP. He said that AI is proving to be helpful in many cases in the film industry. Better options of visual, video, audio are being available through AI. He gave the example that voice recording has become easy through AI. When the artist is busy, the recording will be done exactly from his voice sample.
Salgia said that nowadays lies are also being served with the help of new technology. People do not have time to find out the truth. A 30-second reel has now become important in everyone’s life. AI education has become important for every class.
Salgia said that two years ago he took a step towards writing and wrote the novel ‘One Upon a Time in Bollywood’. This novel includes all his experiences related to theatre, film direction and editing. Currently he is working on two novels.
Salgia said that converting the three and a half hour historical black and white film Mughal-e-Azam made on film format into a colour film was an unforgettable work of his life. Famous director K. Asif made this film in fourteen years after many ups and downs. After two years of tireless hard work as an editor, this film was released in 2004 through digital colourisation. To make the colours as authentic as possible, paintings, clothes and other historical references of the Mughal period were studied. Special software was used for colour in which each frame was painted with different colours. The audience appreciated this effort very much.
He said that due to the prevalence of mediums like OTT platform, YouTube, Radio FM etc., employment opportunities have increased for everyone. Today the work has increased twenty times as compared to the eighties. Many talents are getting both opportunities and respect through these mediums. In response to a question, he said that it is meaningless to expect melodious songs and music in the present era. Nowadays the trend of hookline has started in songs, in which the song becomes a hit with just one or two sentences.
In the beginning, Salgia was welcomed by Praveen Khariwal, Rajesh Shivnekar, Rakesh Sahu, Ajay Bhatt, Krishnakant Rokde and Deepak Maheshwari. The program was conducted by Satyajit Shivnekar.
