Indore (Team Newsbuddy): The path to a full-fledged international airport in Indore has been cleared. MP Shankar Lalwani met Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu in this regard and put forward many important suggestions towards making Indore a full-fledged international airport.
Lalwani urged the minister to start regular international flights from Indore and make Indore airport fully ready for international flights. On this, the Union Minister took a positive stance and said that if the state government provides land, the central government can develop a full-fledged international airport in Indore.
MP Lalwani informed the minister that he has also discussed this matter with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and he has agreed in principle on this. The Union Minister also said that he has talked to the Chief Minister on this subject and he is taking necessary action in this direction.
MP Shankar Lalwani is working towards doubling the GDP of Indore by the year 2030 and airport expansion will play an important role in this plan. There are many examples where the economy of cities has developed very fast after the expansion of airport facilities and the entire area has been transformed.
Also, during this meeting, MP Lalwani also drew attention to the ever-increasing parking problem at Indore Airport. He told that passengers have to face trouble due to lack of parking at the airport. On this, Minister Naidu immediately approved the proposal to build a multi-level parking and issued necessary instructions to the officials.
MP Lalwani is continuously working on improving the national and international connectivity of Indore. His efforts in the last few years have resulted in Indore getting several important projects like new flights, better air facilities and air cargo hub.
Now that Indore is emerging as the cleanest city in the country as well as a major investment and tourism destination, this move of a full-fledged international airport will further boost Indore’s prospects.
