Indore: The high-profile suicide case of Bhupendra Raghuvanshi, a prominent liquor businessman and pub owner in Indore, has taken a significant turn. Iti Tiwari, a Mumbai-based woman named in Bhupendra’s suicide note for alleged blackmail and mental harassment, surrendered to the Indore police at Annapurna Police Station on August 29, 2025, accompanied by her lawyer. This development is seen as a crucial step in the investigation, and the police are now intensifying their probe into this sensational case.
Bhupendra Raghuvanshi, the owner of well-known Indore pubs such as Shosha, Pitchers, and Skull, took his life on August 26, 2025, by injecting himself with a poisonous substance at his home. In a five-page suicide note, he accused Iti Tiwari of severe blackmail, alleging she extorted ₹25 lakh from him by threatening to implicate him in a rape case. Bhupendra further claimed that Iti demanded an iPhone, a flat, and a car, subjecting him to relentless mental torture that left him with no option but suicide. The note also hinted at the involvement of others behind Iti, though he did not name them explicitly. Bhupendra mentioned a previous suicide attempt 15 days earlier, from which he had survived.
In, the morning of August 29, 2025, Iti Tiwari surrendered at Annapurna Police Station. The police had intensified their search for her based on Bhupendra’s suicide note and mobile data. Led by Annapurna Station In-Charge Ajay Nair and ACP Shivendra Joshi, the police have registered a case under abetment to suicide and initiated a detailed investigation. Following her surrender, Iti is being interrogated to verify the allegations of blackmail, abetment, and other charges. The police have begun examining the social media accounts and bank transactions of Iti Tiwari and her sister Shubhangi (also referred to as Shivangi in some reports). Preliminary findings confirm that Bhupendra transferred significant sums to Iti, with evidence already collected. Additionally, interrogations of Bhupendra’s driver, Shubham, and guard Saurabh revealed that Iti and Bhupendra’s relationship, which began as a friendship about two years ago, later turned into a blackmail scheme.
Iti Tiwari, a married woman, previously resided in Indore’s Mahalaxmi Nagar with her sister Shubhangi before moving to Mumbai for work. She maintained regular visits to Indore, where she met Bhupendra at his Shosha pub during social events. Sources indicate that Iti was addicted to alcohol and marijuana, using Bhupendra’s money to fund a lavish lifestyle, including high-profile parties and international trips. According to the suicide note, Bhupendra’s generosity was exploited, leading to her alleged blackmail tactics. Meanwhile, the police are investigating this high-profile case with multiple angles:
Transfers from Bhupendra’s accounts to Iti and her friend Arisha are under scrutiny to determine the extent of the extortion and potential involvement of others.
Bhupendra’s note suggested a larger network behind Iti. The police are exploring whether this was a planned honeytrap operation involving additional accomplices.
Given Iti’s residence in Mumbai, a police team has been dispatched to investigate her activities and contacts there, with support from Mumbai Police.
Bhupendra’s friends, Deepesh and Shrikant, mentioned in the suicide note, have been questioned, providing critical leads.
Bhupendra’s Family and Financial Situation. Bhupendra is survived by his wife, son, and daughter, who reside in the US and returned to Indore for his last rites. His family revealed that Bhupendra was under severe stress due to financial losses, with three pubs and a restaurant having shut down, leaving him heavily in debt. It’s alleged that blackmail exacerbated his mental distress, culminating in his tragic decision.

The police are working to determine whether she acted alone or as part of an organized network. Forensic and digital evidence, including Bhupendra’s mobile data and bank records, is being analyzed to substantiate the allegations. The police have indicated that more individuals may be summoned for questioning. The suicide of Bhupendra Raghuvanshi has gripped Indore and sparked nationwide discussions. While Iti Tiwari’s surrender marks a critical development, many questions remain unanswered. The ongoing police investigation will aim to uncover the full truth behind this tragic incident—whether Iti acted alone or if a larger network orchestrated this devastating honeytrap.
