Rajgir (Team Newsbuddy) – On the first day of the Hero Asia Cup held in Rajgir, Bihar, Bangladesh defeated China-Taipei 7-2 to register a spectacular victory. In this match, Hockey India’s Joint Secretary Firoz Ansari and Rajgir MP Shri Kaushalendra Kumar attended as guests and met the players. Firoz Ansari presented the Hero of the Match award to Bangladesh player Abdullah Mohammad (15).
After this, Korea challenged Malaysia in the second match. During this match, Firoz Ansari introduced himself to the players along with Cabinet Minister of Rural Development Department of Bihar Government and MLA Rajgir and President Hockey Bihar Shri Shravan Kumar and wished them.
During this, President of International Hockey Federation (FIH) Tayyab Ikram, Secretary General of Hockey India Bholanath, President of Hockey India Dilip Tirkey, former Olympian Aslam Sher Khan, Treasurer of Hockey India Manoharan J Shekaran, Director General Commander of Hockey India RK Srivastava and other prominent personalities were present.
This event shows the contribution of Rajgir and Bihar towards hockey and becomes a source of inspiration for the players. It is known that the winning team of Asia Cup will get direct entry in the World Cup to be held in 2026. It is a matter of joy that the Indian team is still undefeated in this competition.
