Maharyaman , Asnani takes over command of MPCA

Indore (Team Newsbuddy): Maharyaman Scindia of Gwalior and Sudhir Asnani of Indore took over the command of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) as President and Secretary respectively. All the office bearers were elected unopposed in the Annual General Meeting of MPCA held here.

Maharyaman became the third person of Scindia family to take over the command of MPCA. Before him, Madhavrao Scindia and Jyotiraditya Scindia have taken over this responsibility. This time there was no challenge in front of the members of Jyotiraditya Scindia-Sanjay Jagdale group, due to which all were elected unopposed.

Emotional moment for me: Scindia

Maharyaman Scindia said that being elected unopposed to the post of President in MPCA is an emotional moment for him. He said, I have learnt from my father to move forward by taking everyone along and we will run the organization accordingly. We will make every effort for the development of cricket in the state. We will provide opportunities to the talents of our rural areas to come forward. I am sure that our new executive will get full support of the cricket experts of the state. Our focus right now will be on successfully organizing the matches of the ICC Women’s World Cup in Indore.

Faced opposition from media on the very first day:

Maharyaman had to face opposition from the media immediately after being elected president. This happened because the MPCA did not allow the media to enter the Holkar Stadium during this election general meeting, while dozens of leaders and supporters were present inside. Due to this, when the media was called inside after the general meeting, the media persons did not agree and Mahaaryaman had to come out of the stadium and talk to them. After the former and present office bearers expressed regret, the media persons went inside the stadium. The surprise is that when it was certain that the office bearers would be elected unopposed, then why was the media treated like this.
