Ambikapur : Former Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister, T.S. Singh Deo, in his message to the people of the state and the country on the occasion of the New Year 2026, said that the true spirit of India lies in religious harmony, tolerance, and social cohesion. He said that the past year, 2025, was challenging for social consciousness, and the increasing incidents of animosity and conflict, especially in tribal areas, are contrary to Chhattisgarh’s peace-loving traditions.

Singh Deo clarified that his statement was not from a political perspective, but as a constitutional citizen and public servant. Recalling the thoughts of Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, he said that the soul of the Indian Constitution is based on equality, fraternity, and justice.

Expressing deep concern over the increasing incidents of mob violence and identity-based crimes in various parts of the country in recent times, Singh Deo said that such incidents are not only an attack on humanity but also weaken our social fabric. He said that politics built on fear, rumors, and hatred divides society and hinders the pace of development.

He emphasized that the rule of law is paramount in a democracy, and the impartiality of the administration is the foundation of public trust. Singh Deo appealed to administrative officers and elected representatives to work solely in accordance with the Constitution, free from any kind of political or social pressure.

Addressing the youth specifically, he said that in this era of information revolution, the role of young people is extremely important. He urged the youth to stay away from misleading information and hate-mongering ideologies and become bridges of dialogue, empathy, and social responsibility.

Concluding his message, Singh Deo said that in 2026, we must collectively reject divisive politics and move forward towards building an inclusive India focused on fundamental issues such as education, health, employment, social justice, and economic equality.
