Rourkela. The FIH Pro League international hockey competition was organized at the world’s largest spectator venue, Chamta Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium, Rourkela. The first match of the said competition was played between Spain and Ireland. On this occasion, Joint Secretary of Hockey India and President of Chhattisgarh Hockey, Firoz Ansari introduced himself to the players and extended his best wishes. Olympic medalist Spain team defeated Ireland team 7-0. The Man of the Match award was given to Spain’s Spaniard Alvaro Iglesias. 19600 spectators were present in the match played on Saturday at Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela. On this occasion, Hockey India Treasurer Shekhar J Manoharan, Executive Director Commander RK Srivastava, international player Peter Tirkey were present along with Firoz Ansari.
