Raipur. To commemorate International Women’s Day, Mahtari Vandan Sammelans were organised in the district headquarters, block headquarters, and municipal areas of Balodabazar-Bhatapara on March 10. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Mahtari Vandan Yojana virtually by pressing a button. Under this scheme, the first installment of Rs. 1000 was disbursed through DBT into the accounts of 3,30,901 women in the Balodabazar-Bhatapara district. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai launched the ‘Bal Vivah Mukt Chhattisgarh Abhiyan’ in the state-level program. In the district-level event held at the Nagar Bhawan in Balodabazar, the state’s Revenue and Disaster Management Minister, Shri Tankram Verma, graced the event as chief guest. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the people and was displayed on LED screens during the program. Signatures were taken by ministers, including Verma, along with other representatives and officials to initiate the ‘Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ in the district. Additionally, new ration cards were distributed to 12 beneficiaries.
Addressing the program, Minister Tankram Verma stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has implemented several schemes for the empowerment of women. The Chhattisgarh Government is also committed to safeguarding women’s dignity and respect. The launch of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana is another step towards women’s empowerment. Under this scheme, an amount of Rs. 1000 will be deposited into the accounts of women every month, enabling them to fulfil their small needs easily. If any woman hasn’t received the money in their account after filling out the form, there’s no need to worry. They can contact the toll-free number and report their issue. He mentioned that the Chhattisgarh Government is fulfilling all the promises made under Modi’s Guarantee. Everyone’s participation is essential to making India a developed nation by 2047, and Chhattisgarh’s role is very crucial to this. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a leader who communicates with individuals from every section of society. Wherever he cannot personally reach, he connects through virtual mediums.
Collector K.L. Chouhan stated that there are 11,901 women self-help groups formed in the district, with approximately 130,911 women associated with them. There are 7,882 lakhpati didis, and to increase this number, lakhpati didis have to inspire others.
Zilla Panchayat President Rakesh Verma, Municipal Corporation Chairman Chittawar Jaiswal, Janpad Vice President Ishan Vaishnav, CEO Zilla Panchayat Namrata Jain, Vijay Kesharwani, Ashok Jain, Naresh Kesharwani, Tesu Lal Dhurandhar, various public representatives, officials, and a large number of women were present.
