IIM Indore to undergo expansion, infra projects worth Rs 432 Cr inaugurated

Indore (Team Newsbuddy) : IIM Indore is embarking on a substantial expansion and infrastructure development initiative called ‘ABHYUDAYA’, with projects totaling Rs 432 crores. The inauguration of this project by Institute Director Prof Himanshu Rai was marked with a traditional Bhumi Pujan ceremony on Ram Navami. Rai expressed his excitement about ABHYUDAYA, stating that it represents a significant advancement for IIM Indore, aligning its infrastructure with its educational goals and fostering holistic development for students and faculty. 

The project underscores the institute’s commitment today sustainable development and transitioning towards a net-zero campus. It incorporates advanced environmental technologies such as solar power systems and solar water heating to reduce reliance on non-renewable energy sources and minimize the campus’s carbon footprint. Additionally, a state-of-the-art sewage treatment plant will facilitate wastewater recycling, while comprehensive landscaping plans aim to enhance biodiversity and ecological benefits. 

ABHYUDAYA includes the construction of modern academic facilities, residential accommodations, and amenities to support the institute’s educational mission. Key features include versatile learning spaces, faculty offices, lounges, and an Incubation Center to foster knowledge creation and entrepreneurial endeavors. Residential accommodations, including high-rise hostels and dining facilities, promise comfortable living arrangements for students and visiting faculty.

The project prioritizes environmental efficiency and comfort, aiming to achieve a GRIHA 5-star rating. Buildings are designed to maximize natural sunlight and ventilation, with features like “Brise-Soleil” to minimize energy consumption. 

Electric vehicle integration and sophisticated water and waste management systems further emphasize sustainability. ABHYUDAYA also focuses on enhancing connectivity, accessibility, and air quality within the campus. Classrooms are equipped with cutting-edge technology to support various teaching modes, while energy efficiency measures ensure resource optimization.
