Indore: Madhya Pradesh’s Shravya Sojatia performed well and entered the semi-finals of two categories in the Daily College Open All India Ranking Junior Tennis Tournament held in the city. She made it to the last four in the girls’ singles as well as in the doubles category with Anya Khan.
Players from all over the country are participating in the competition organized for under-12 age group players at Daly College. In the ongoing competition, most of the matches in the girls’ singles category on Wednesday were one-sided. Shravya Sojatia showed a very aggressive game against Agni Bhadoria and did not let the opponent player do anything. She won this match 6-0, 6-0. She made the opponent player run on both sides of the court. She also showed mental strength and created pressure by breaking the opponent player’s second serve. Now in the semi-finals, Shravya will face international player Anya Rathi. In another match, Anya Rathi clashed with Saanvi Singh. Anya performed as per her name and easily won this match. In the first set, the opponent player could not score any points, while in the second set, she made some efforts to make a comeback but could win only one point. Anya Rathi won the match 6-0, 6-1. A similar result was seen in the match between Vaidehi Shukla and Zia Saifi. International player Vaidehi allowed the opponent player to score only one point in the entire match. Vaidehi easily entered the next round by winning the match 6-1, 6-0. There was some competition in the match played between Sharvi Gehlot and Suchita Tripathi, but it was also limited to the first set. Suchita won the match 6-4, 6-1.
In the girls doubles category, Anya Khan and Shravya Sojatia defeated Ahana Ughade and Saanvi Singh 6-0, 6-0. Riya Jafri and Aashna Sharma faced Aashvi Jain and Aagnya Bhadoria. Riya and Aashna won the match 6-0, 6-0. International players Vaidehi Shukla and Anya Rathi’s strong pair came on the court. Geetika and Pawani’s pair could not pose any challenge to them. Vaidehi and Anya won the match very easily 6-0, 6-0.
Thrishir ,Shlok register victories
In the boys singles category, the first match of the day was between Trishir Dhawan and Ruhan Talreja. Trishir, using his experience, won the match in a one-sided manner 6-1, 6-2. There was some competition in the match played between Garv Malpani and Narsingh Dev. In this match, Garv won 6-3, 6-4. Shlok faced Advik Guru. Here Shlok showed aggressive play and allowed the opponent player to score only one point in the entire match. Shlok won this match 6-0, 6-1.
The match was a close one between Vihaan Nawab and Hitarth Surana. Both the players were experienced and were full of enthusiasm after strong victories in the previous matches. Both challenged each other for every point. In the end, Hitarth moved ahead by winning 6-4, 6-2.
