NCOE’s lifter Subhiksha wins two gold medals,Madhya Pradesh’s weightlifters struggle

Asmita Khelo India Women’s League Weightlifting Competition

Indore(Team Newsbuddy): In the Asmita Khelo India Women’s League Weightlifting Competition organized by Sports Ministry, Government of India, Indian Sports Authority and Indian Weightlifting Association, the excellent performance of NCOE (National Center of Excellence) women weightlifters continued on the third day as well and won five medals. On the third day, the women weightlifters of host Madhya Pradesh had to struggle a bit and missed the medal.

NCOE won 5 medals including 3 gold on the third day of this national level competition being played at Shriram Gym, Robot Square under the aegis of Madhya Pradesh Weightlifting Association. In the youth category, in the 76 kg weight category, NCOE’s M.A. Haseena Shirin won the gold by lifting 167 kg weight category. Maharashtra’s Ishwari Powar won the silver medal by lifting 157 kg weight category. Sahasara V. of Telangana was at the third position, she lifted 148 kg.
In Junior 76 kg, NCOE’s Subhiksha defeated her opponents by lifting 168 kg. NCOE’s M.A. Haseena Shirin remained at the second position with 167 kg weight category. Karnataka’s K. Tejaswini Poojari got the third position by lifting 158 kg.
In Senior Women’s category, NCOE’s Subhiksha continued her excellent performance and won the second gold medal of the day by lifting 168 kg. NCOE’s M.A. Haseena Shirin won the silver medal by lifting 167 kg. This was Haseena’s third medal of the day. She won 1 gold and 2 silver medals. MP’s Sneha Batra remained at the fifth position.
In the Youth category, Tamil Nadu’s E. Priyadarshini won the gold medal in the 132 kg weight category in the 71 kg weight category. Poorvi DP of Karnataka won silver by lifting 95 kg weight category.
In the junior category, Rajnandini Amane of Maharashtra won the gold medal in 71 kg weight category with a total weight of 167 kg. R. Harini of Puducherry was in second place, she lifted 166 kg. Sangeetha A.M of Karnataka got the third place by lifting 155 kg. Tripta Kaur of MP remained in sixth place.
