1 min readIndore(Team Newsbuddy): Following a tragic incident at a renowned coaching institute in Delhi, where three IAS aspirants lost their lives due to waterlogging in the basement, Indore Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh has mandated a comprehensive investigation of all coaching classes, hospitals, hostels, and libraries operating in basements across the Indore division.
The directive was issued after the unfortunate deaths of three UPSC aspirants at Rau’s Academy in Old Rajinder Nagar, Delhi, which highlighted the critical need for safety measures in such establishments. In response, a similar inspection was conducted in Bhopal, resulting in the sealing of five coaching institutes, including prominent ones like Physics Wallah and Mithesh Rathi Classes.
In Indore, the drive led to the sealing of Vivekanand Coaching Class in Bhanwarkuan, as a joint team headed by SDM Juni Indore Ghanshyam Dhangar found inadequate safety measures. Commissioner Singh’s order calls for the formation of joint investigation teams in each district to scrutinize the security and safety protocols of institutions operating in basements.
These teams, composed of executive magistrates, police officers, municipal corporation officials, and officers from the fire safety and electrical safety departments, will conduct thorough inspections and submit reports on the adequacy of electrical safety, fire safety, and residential arrangements. Legal action will be pursued in cases where irregularities are found.
