American runner creates history, wins race by margin of five thousandths of second
1 min readParis (Team Newsbuddy): American sprint star Noah Lyles has won the 100m race at the Paris Olympics by a margin of five thousandths of a second.
In one of the most thrilling matches of the Paris Olympics, Noah won the race in the best time of his life at 9.79 seconds. But Jamaican sprinter Keishen Thompson also completed the race in the same time.
The time of both was considered to be 9.79 seconds.
Noah’s difference was .784 while Thompson’s was .789.
American runner Fred Curley became the bronze medalist with 9.81 seconds.
Last time gold medalist Jacobs Marcel of Italy completed the race in 9.85 seconds and finished fifth.
