Chhattisgarh Green Summit 2024: Pre-LokManthan edition event in September

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): The National Institute of Technology Raipur and VIBGYOR (N.E. Foundation) are proud to announce the first Chhattisgarh Green Summit, (Lok Beyond Folk)to be held from September 26 to 28,, at the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur. This summit, a precursor to the prestigious LokManthan 2024, aims to celebrate and promote the rich natural and cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh while addressing key environmental protection and promotion practices that are rooted in our indigenous traditions. Since its inception in 2016, LokManthan has evoked massive public response.

As a pre-LokManthan event, the Chhattisgarh Green Summit will focus on promoting sustainability, environmental consciousness, and community engagement deeply embedded in the region’s indigenous traditions. The summit aims to highlight Chhattisgarh’s diverse natural and cultural heritage, emphasizing the need for an integrated approach to sustain this legacy. Through various awareness programs, the summit will explore the multifaceted sustainable practices of the indigenous people and their perspectives on the environment, offering valuable learning experiences for participants.

The summit will feature seminars on critical themes such as forest policy for sustainable industrialization of non-timber forest products, community models for forest conservation, carbon credit for the forestry sector, technological advancements in the sustainable utilization of medicinal plants and mushrooms, strategic planning in forest management, urban forestry for sustainable cities, ecotourism as a tool for forest conservation, and development perspectives of forest-dwelling communities.

In addition to these seminars, the Chhattisgarh Green Summit will showcase live looms walk-throughs, indigenous cuisine of Chhattisgarh, open-air live performances, indigenous melodies and dance, instrumental recitals, folklore through indigenous storytelling, puppet shows, indigenous chantings, green enterprises, and indigenous tattoos.
