The Chinese players came into their maiden final match with everything they had got and took the game to the Indians in the final. Their resilient defense kept the topscorers of the tournament from scoring for most parts of the game which is a compliment in itself.
However, it was India’s experience that came into play in the final quarter as the Men in Blue switched up a gear and got the job done on the day.

India did felt dangerous on some occassions as China tried to score from their penalty corners, but it was the resilient Indian defense who didn’t let the hosts score on the night.
Skipper Harmanpreet Singh finished the tournament as the second highest goalscorer with 7 goals in this campaign. His penalty corners couldn’t be converted into goals tonight but it is the win that matters the most at the end of the day.
Coming into the match, India has a strong head-to-head record against China, with 17 wins out of 23 encounters. China has won only 3 times, with 3 matches ending in a draw.
