Indore(Team Newsbuddy): The new academic session for the 1,000 newly admitted students pursuing MBA, PGDBA, and PGDM at Prestige Institute of Management and Research (PIMR) commenced with the spectacular 31st “Deeksharambh” ceremony at Brilliant Convention Centre here on Friday. The event was marked by the presence of esteemed academicians, industry leaders, and parliamentarians, who shared valuable insights with the incoming students.
In a keynote address, Shashank Mani Tripathi, Member of Parliament and IIT alumnus, urged students to embrace collaborative learning and purpose-driven entrepreneurship. “Learning is not a solo journey; it’s a shared process where you gain as much from your peers as from textbooks,” Tripathi said. He stressed the importance of customer-centricity in business, adding, “Your customers are like God—serve them with passion and purpose.” Tripathi likened entrepreneurship to marathon running, advising students to focus on long-term success in business, leadership, and nation-building. For his contributions to social entrepreneurship, he was honored with the prestigious PIMR Social Entrepreneurship Award.
Dr. Vikram Singh, former IPS officer and Chancellor of Noida International University, cautioned students about the dangers of excessive social media use, calling it a “curse” that leads to digital dementia among the youth. He encouraged students to harness social media for academic growth rather than as a distraction. Dr. Singh was presented with the PIMR Leadership Award for his exemplary leadership in education and public service.
Dr. Davish Jain, Chancellor of Prestige University and Chairman of the Prestige Education Foundation, motivated students to maintain a clear vision for their futures and to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. “Management is not just about running a business—it’s about leading a purposeful life,” Dr. Jain remarked. He emphasized the significance of making value-driven decisions and building relationships that create a lasting impact.
Prof. A. Gopalkrishna Iyer, President of the Renewable Energy Promotion Association, urged students to think innovatively and act in ways that benefit society and the planet. He challenged them to make their journey “from the womb to the tomb” meaningful, not just for themselves but for the world.
Adding to the insights, Prof. Indira Parekh, former Dean of IIM Ahmedabad and former Vice Chancellor of Flame University, spoke on the pursuit of excellence in management. She was honored with the PIMR Excellence Award for her remarkable contributions to academia and leadership.
Dr. S. S. Bhakar, Group Director of PIMR, welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the institute’s impressive 31-year journey. The event also saw the unveiling of posters for the institute’s highly anticipated annual ‘Manthan’ festival and the upcoming international conference.
