Daly College wins overall championship in All India IPSC competition

Indore (Team Newsbuddy): Representing Indore, the team of the host Daly College won the title in the All India IPSC Girls Tennis Competition. Players in the age group of 17 years participated in this tournament. Teams from different states of the country came to Indore to compete in the competition.
In the tournament played on synthetic court, Daly College achieved the honour of being the champion in the team event as well as in the individual event. Along with this, the team also won the overall championship trophy.
In the individual final, Indore’s Reet Arora faced Tamanna Walia of YPS Mohali. Tamanna is the 12th ranked player in the country and due to her more experience, she was considered to be the favorite. In the first game itself, Reet fell behind 0-40, but after that she improved her game. She constantly made the opponent run on the court and forced her to commit mistakes. Tamanna got entangled in her strategy and kept losing points. In the end, Reet won the decisive match 6-1 and won the champion trophy.
In the final of the team event also, Daly College easily defeated the team of Mayo College, Ajmer by 2-0. The winning team included Reet Arora, Vihana Desai, Siya Agarwal and Poorva Singh.
The closing ceremony and prize distribution of the competition took place under the hospitality of former international tennis player and Commonwealth Games participant Aishwarya Agarwal.
