Indore (Team Newsbuddy): Prize distribution of the Indore nodal level inter-college badminton (male and female) competition 2024-25 organized by SGSITS Indore under the aegis of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya was held under the chief hospitality of the former in-charge director of the institute, Prof. Vijay Rode and under the chairmanship of senior sports committee member Prof. M.L. Jain. Indore Nodal Sports Center Coordinator Zameel Khan was present as a special guest. On this occasion, the Institute’s Professor in charge of Sports Prof. Avdhesh Dalpati, Sports Committee members Prof. B.S. More, Prof. Girish Soni, Prof. K.K. Dhakad, Arun Kuliha, Dheeraj Verma, Vikram Hansari and Sukhdev Bamboria were also present.
Giving the above information, competition coordinator Dr. Manish Jaiswal said that the final match of the men’s category of this competition was played between Acropolis Institute Indore and host IPS Academy Indore, in which Acropolis Engineering defeated IPS Academy Indore 3-0 in a one-sided match and achieved the honor of being the winner. In the first singles, Yash Ahirwar of Acropolis defeated IPS Academy 21-16 and 21-12. In the second singles, Amresh Kadam of Acropolis defeated Tanishk Agarwal of IPS Academy 21-13 and 21-19. In the third doubles, the pair of Rudra Pratap Rawal and Amresh Kadam of Acropolis defeated the pair of Tanishk Agarwal and Abhinav Sahu of IPS Academy 21-15 and 21-16 and emerged victorious.
Amresh Kadam of Acropolis Institute won the best player award in the men’s category.
The final match of the women’s category was played between host SGSIT Indore and IPS Academy in which SGSIT Indore defeated IPS Academy 2-0 and won the title. In the first singles of this final match, Shaili Juneja of SGSIT Indore defeated Anula Kumari of IPS Academy 21-8 and 21-12. In the second doubles, Niharika Sant of SGSIT Indore defeated Isha of IPS Academy 21-12 and 21-10 to become the winner.
Niharika Sant of SGSIT Indore won the best player award in the women’s category.
The chief guest gave a message to the runner-up team that either win or learn. Never accept defeat in life. He also congratulated the winning team and wished the players selected for the state level competition in advance for a good performance.
Earlier, the guests were welcomed by Prof. Nidhi Oswal, Prof. Neha Patkar, Prof. Girish Soni, Prof. B.S. More, Dheeraj Verma, Vikram Hansari and Sukhdev Bamboria of the Sports Committee. The report of the competition was given by Prof. Manish Jaiswal. The program was conducted by Student Sports Committee Secretary Anushka Jariya and vote of thanks was given by Prof. R.C. Gurjar
