Aishwarya – Anuj win double titles, Shishir is state winner

State Bank of India Madhya Pradesh State Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament

Indore (Team Newsbuddy): In the State Bank of India Madhya Pradesh State Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament organized by Madhya Pradesh Badminton Association and Choithram Badminton Sports Academy, Anuj Kale of Indore won the men’s doubles and mixed doubles and Aishwarya Mehta of Dhar won the women’s singles and doubles titles and won the doubles title. The title of the men’s category was won by Shishir Dwivedi of Bhopal and the title of the women’s category was won by Aishwarya Mehta of Dhar.

The final of the men’s singles was held between defending champions Rishabh Rathore and Shishir Dwivedi. Shishir won the title by defeating Rishabh 21-15 and 21-7. In the women’s category, Aishwarya Mehta won the title by defeating Swati Singh Solanki 21-18 and 21-13. The title of men’s doubles was won by Anuj Kale and Adityam Joshi of Indore in a tough final of three sets by defeating Piyush Bobde and Yash Raikwar of Dhar by 21-15, 19-21 and 24-22. In the tough final of mixed doubles, the pair of Anuj Kale and Prenika Holkar defeated the pair of Yash Raikwar of Dhar and Swati Singh Solanki of Indore by 20-22, 21-12 and 21-16. In the women’s doubles, the pair of Aishwarya Mehta (Dhar) and Priyanka Pant (Bhopal) defeated Ashita Dubey and Sara Mehta (Gwalior) by 21-12 and 21-13. In the men’s category, Aashay Karde defeated Adityam Joshi and in the women’s category, Bhumika Verma defeated Anushka Shahpurkar and secured the third position.

Earlier in the morning session, in the semi-finals, Shishir Dwivedi defeated Adityam Joshi in a tough three-set match 16-21, 21-16 and 21-17. Rishabh Rathore entered the finals by defeating Aashay Karde 21-14 and 21-19. In the men’s doubles semi-finals, the pair of Piyush Bobde-Yash Raikwar defeated Agad Baveja and Mridul Bhiryani and Adityam Joshi-Anuj Kale defeated Kanishka Sharma-Kuber Verma to enter the finals. The prize distribution of the competition took place in the presence of State Bank of India’s DGM Satishchandra Gupta, MP Badminton Association’s Secretary Anil Chaugule, MPBA’s Advisor Jaisingh, Treasurer Deepak Srivastava, Organizing Secretary Amit Kulkarni, IDBA’s Vice President Malhari Kale, Choithram’s Sports Facility Manager Praveen Likhar, Chief Referee Sneha Dhanotkar, Match Controller Shishir Khare and National Player Ambrish Nadkar. The players were also given cash prizes along with the trophy.
