Indore ( Team Newsbuddy): Alistair Gray of Great Britain became the winner of the singles category of the ITF World Tennis Tour M-25 (Men) $30,000 tennis tournament organized by Madhya Pradesh Tennis Association under the aegis of Indian Tennis Association and sponsored by Godrej Properties Ltd. and Yellow Diamond.
The title match of this prestigious tournament played at Indore Tennis Club was between Alistair Gray of Great Britain and Sameer Banerjee of America. Alistair won this match 6-3, 1-1. Alistair easily won the first set 6-3. Alistair showed his strong game in the first set and easily won the first set. Sameer was in rhythm in the first set, which Alistair took advantage of. In the second set, both were tied after winning 1-1 games, at this score Sameer withdrew from the match due to health reasons, and Alistair won the title in just 47 minutes.
With this victory, the winner Alistair got 25 ITF points along with prize money of $4860. Whereas runner-up player Sameer got $2637 and 16 ITF points. Similarly, the players who played till the semi-finals got $1428 and 8 points, and the players who played in the quarter-finals got $830 and 3 points.
The prize distribution took place under the chief hospitality of SDM Pradeep Soni. Tournament Director Arjun Dhupar and referee Shri Anton D’Souza were also present on this occasion. The event was conducted by Sajid Lodhi.
