Maharashtra’s Mango wins Junior Billiards Championship

91st National Billiards and Snooker Competition

Indore(Team Newsbuddy): Sumer Mango of Maharashtra won the Junior Billiards title in the 91st National Billiards and Snooker (Men) Championship being played at the Smash Hall of Yashwant Club under the aegis of the Indian Billiards and Snooker Association and jointly hosted by Madhya Pradesh Billiards and Snooker Association and Yashwant Club.

Junior players are showing their talent in this national championship being held at the prestigious Yashwant Club of the city. The winner of Junior Billiards was decided on the basis of round robin method, in which Sumer Mango of Maharashtra won the title by winning all his three matches. In the matches held on the basis of 90 minutes time format, Sumer defeated Shayan Rajmi of Maharashtra by 539-376 in the first match, Sumer defeated Dhruv Patel of Gujarat by 370-321 in the second match and in the third match Sumer defeated Ranveer Duggal of Chandigarh by 585-312.
The second position was secured by Ranveer Duggal of Chandigarh. He won two matches. In the first match Ranveer defeated Shayan Rajmi by 528-365 and in the second match Ranveer defeated Dhruv Patel by 437-431.
The third position was secured by Dhruv Patel by defeating Shayan Rajmi by 545-473. Shayan Rajmi remained at the fourth position.
Earlier in the quarter final matches, Sumer Mango defeated Mayank Karthik of Karnataka 331-273, Ranveer Duggal defeated Mayur Garg of Gujarat 321-272, Dhruv Patel defeated Aryan Parulkar of Maharashtra 408-141 and Shayan Rajmi defeated Tathya Sachdev of MP 317-248. The third place in sub-junior boys billiards was won by Vaibhav Chaddha of Telangana by defeating J. Naveen Kumar of Tamil Nadu 125-124.

Easy wins for Robin, Aditya, Dhwaj

Senior and experienced players dominated the senior billiards matches. In the first round matches being played in the best of five format, Robin D’Souza of RSPB defeated Raj Mohan of Punjab 3-0, Aditya Agarwal of RSPB defeated Jagdish Pradas of Rajasthan 3-0, Dhwaj Haria of PSPB defeated Vijay Nichani of Tamil Nadu 3-1, Rishabh Shah of PSPB defeated Govind Raj Reddy of Andhra Pradesh 3-0 and Devendra Joshi of PSPB defeated Aman Kumar of Jharkhand 3-0 and entered the next round.
