Indore (Team Newsbuddy). The Tulsi Nagar Colony in Sanwer Ward 37 is facing a severe sanitation crisis due to the blockage of a 30-foot-deep drainage line laid by Nagarjuna Company at Samar Park square falling under Ward 36 of Sanwer assembly constituency.
This blockage has resulted in sewage water overflowing onto the streets, creating unhygienic conditions and disrupting daily life for residents. To address this issue, Ward 37 Corporator Sangeeta Mahesh Joshi, along with the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) team, has taken swift action, launching an extensive drainage repair operation.
Shocking Discoveries in 30-Foot Drainage Excavation
Despite initial attempts to clear the choked drainage line, the issue persisted. As a result, authorities decided to dig a 30-foot-deep trench by cutting through the concrete road at Samar Park Square. The excavation revealed shocking blockages, including bedding materials, pillows, and large debris, which had obstructed the sewage flow for years. To ensure a permanent solution, the old drainage chamber is being replaced with a new one, which will help prevent future clogging and overflow issues.
The large-scale excavation has significantly impacted traffic movement in Nipania and surrounding areas. Commuters traveling between Dewas Naka, Tulsi Nagar, and Nipania are experiencing severe disruptions, as road closures and construction work have slowed and diverted traffic considerably.
Despite the inconvenience, local residents and community leaders have lauded the swift response of Corporator Sangeeta Joshi and the municipal team. K.K. Jha, coordinator of the Ward 36-37 Residents’ Federation, and President Rajesh Tomar commended their dedication and relentless efforts, expressing optimism that the situation would be resolved soon.
Municipal authorities have assured residents that the work is being carried out on a priority basis, with efforts being made to minimize inconvenience.
Corporator representative Mahesh Joshi assured to resolve the issue swiftly, stating, “Our goal is to complete this work at the earliest and restore normalcy for the residents. We are working tirelessly to ensure that Tulsi Nagar and surrounding areas never faces such a crisis again.”
With the corporator and municipal teams working round the clock, residents are hopeful that the drainage crisis will soon be a thing of the past.
