Indore: In the qualifying round of the 91st National 15-Red Snooker Championship, 18-year-old Mayur Garg from Gujarat, playing for Railway, stunned his more experienced opponent Syed Ahmed from Telangana with a 4-2 win.

In the knockout matches of the 15-Red Snooker qualifying round being held at the Smash Hall of Yashwant Club, Railway’s 18-year-old Mayur Garg showed exceptional skill and strategy to defeat Telangana’s Syed Ahmed 4-2. Mayur’s gameplay was impressive, with precise shots and complete control over the table.

Other winners included Maharashtra’s Rahul Sachdev, who defeated Punjab’s Gautam Verma 4-2, Delhi’s Jason Malhotra, who edged out Maharashtra’s Anurag Bagri 4-3, Railway’s Neeraj Kumar, who beat Delhi’s Mohit Gupta 4-2, Maharashtra’s Gaurav Deshmukh, who defeated Delhi’s Nitish Tyagi 4-1, Punjab’s Dhruv Verma, who beat MP’s Veerendra Sharma 4-1, Maharashtra’s Abhishek Bajaj, who defeated MP’s Piush Kushwaha 4-1, MP’s Ritic Jain, who edged out Delhi’s Abhishek Ahuja 4-3, Delhi’s Harshit Arora, who beat Telangana’s D. Praganesha 4-1, Bihar’s Saket Surve, who defeated UP’s Shivam Rana 4-1, MP’s Ketan Chawla, who beat Andhra Pradesh’s Navin Kumar 4-1, RSPB’s Mushataq Ali, who whitewashed Uttarakhand’s Jatin Chauhan 4-0, Maharashtra’s Saad Sayyed, who defeated Andhra’s Akhil Goud 4-0, Railway’s Faisal Khan, who beat Punjab’s Neeraj Bagga 4-1, Railway’s E. Panduranga, who defeated Telangana’s Rohit Kumar 4-1, and Railway’s Pushpender Singh, who whitewashed Uttarakhand’s Kamal Bisht 4-0.
