Startups are important in making youth self-reliant, promoting innovation: Brijmohan

New Delhi/ Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): MP Brijmohan Aggarwal raised important questions in the Lok Sabha to promote startups in the state of Chhattisgarh and ensure necessary financial support to them. He paid special attention to the implementation of Credit Guarantee Scheme (CGSS) and Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) and urged the government to effectively extend the reach of these schemes to the entrepreneurs of the state.

Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Jitin Prasad informed that 18 startups have been selected in Chhattisgarh under SISFS with a sanctioned amount of Rs 2.03 crore till 31 December 2024. In addition, 1,736 startups in Chhattisgarh have been recognized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), through which more than 16,000 direct jobs have been created.

MP Agarwal emphasized the need for specific measures to increase awareness of these schemes in the urban areas of Chhattisgarh and ensure their access to entrepreneurs. He said, “The entrepreneurs of our state should get full benefit of these schemes. For this, it is necessary to organize extensive awareness programs and capacity building workshops. Also, an effective monitoring mechanism should be developed to provide continuous support to the startups, so that their progress can be evaluated and necessary improvements can be made.” Jitin Prasad assured that the government is organizing various outreach and awareness programs under the Startup India initiative, which include initiatives such as capacity building, ecosystem development and international outreach. These efforts are aimed at supporting startups across the country, in which Chhattisgarh is also an important partner.

MP Brijmohan Agarwal said that startups are not only opening new employment opportunities for the youth but also giving them a chance to become self-reliant and promote innovation. Many schemes and policies are being run by the government. He urged the government to evaluate the challenges faced by Chhattisgarh’s startups and take concrete steps to resolve them. He said that it is necessary to keep local requirements in mind in policy-making to promote entrepreneurship and generate more and more employment in the state.
