Indore (Team Newsbuddy): The 30th All India Moira Gold Cup Football Tournament organized by Central Gymkhana Club in the memory of Prakash Sonkar and Suresh Airan is witnessing a feast of exciting football and on the second day itself a big upset was witnessed , when Rajmohalla XI made a strong start to the tournament by easily defeating Young Brothers Mahu, one of the strong teams of the state, 4-0, thanks to two goals by Vardhan Sengar. In other matches, Saidham United Mahu , Youth Club Indore and Adivasi Academy also registered interesting victories.
Competition coordinator Bharat Mathurawala told that the final match of the second day of this competition sponsored by Moira Sariya , Sports and Youth Welfare Department of Madhya Pradesh and Indore Municipal Corporation was played at Nehru Stadium ground between Rajmohalla Club of Indore and Young Brothers of Mahu. The strong team Young Brothers Mahu was considered to be the favorite of this match , but in the 17th minute, Vardhan scored a goal for Rajmohalla. Sengar put the team ahead by 1-0 by scoring a goal . After falling behind by one goal , Young Brothers Mhow fought back strongly but in the first half, Rajmohalla’s defence line played a strong game and did not allow any goal to be scored. In the second half also while trying to score a goal, Young Brothers Mhow made big mistakes and gave Rajmohalla chances to score three goals one after the other and under pressure, Young Brothers Mhow lost by a margin of 4 goals. Apart from Vardhan Sengar’s two goals, Lucky Sharma and Aniket also scored one beautiful field goal each from Rajmohalla’s side.
In another match played today, Saidham United Mhow defeated Diamond Club Mhow 1-0. Oscar scored the only goal for Saidham United in the 24th minute. Oscar entered the D by breaking through the defense line of Diamond Club and scored a brilliant goal, giving the team victory. Youth Club Indore faced the challenge of Nayapura Eleven , in which Youth Club won 1-0 . Atharva scored the only goal for Youth Club in the 50th minute. He entered the D by dodging three players of Nayapura Eleven and then dodging the goalkeeper as well, putting the ball in the goalpost, giving the team victory.
Earlier, in the first match of the day, the strong team of the city, Adivasi Academy, defeated the second Paltan team 1-0 and made a good start to the competition. The only goal for Adivasi Academy was scored by Deepak Khokar in the 10th minute.
During the matches on Monday, BJP city general secretary Savita Akhand , Hockey Indore secretary Kishore Shukla , former hockey player Ghulam Sabir introduced themselves to the players. Ramesh Mulchandani , Sanjay Lunawat , Bharat Mathurawala , Ravindra Rathi were present on this occasion.
