Bilaspur win Asmita Hockey State League by defeating Rajnandgaon

Jagdalpur Hockey bags third place

Rajnandgaon (Team Newsbuddy): In the final match of Asmita Hockey State League organised by Chhattisgarh Hockey, run by Sai Centre and Hockey India of Government of India, at the International Astroturf Hockey Stadium, the girl’s team of Bilaspur defeated Rajnandgaon Hockey by 6-4 goals in a closely fought match and emerged victorious with the gold medal. Rajnandgaon became the runner-up with the silver medal and Jagdalpur Hockey came third and won the bronze medal. The team of Sports Academy Raipur came fourth.

The closing and prize distribution ceremony of the competition was held under the chief patronage of Madhusudan Yadav Mayor, Aprita Mohan Sinha, regional councilor Khemlal Verma, Joint Collector Rajnandgaon, Saumit Maurya, Tehsildar Firoz Ansari, President Chhattisgarh Hockey Ramesh Dakaliyya, Shri Qutubuddin Solanki, Mrinal Choubey international hockey player, councilor Chhote Lal Ramteke, Tathagat Vijay Pandey. While distributing the prizes of Asmita Hockey State League, Madhusudan Yadav welcomed all the seniors present on the stage and said that the foundation in Rajnandgaon has been set up by our government and we will take care of it.

He said that we will provide whatever help possible in the field of sports. Whatever work is there for the development of sports, whether it is the arrangement of floodlights or changing the turf of the hockey stadium. He said that recently we have talked to Khelo India that the proposal to change the astroturf in the hockey stadium has been taken by the state government in its budget. Chhattisgarh Hockey President Firoz Ansari said in his welcome address that Asmita Hockey State League competition was organized with the aim of promoting women’s hockey in Chhattisgarh under the joint aegis of Sports Authority of India, Hockey India and Chhattisgarh Hockey. In which cash prize of Rs. 9,60,000 was given as prize to winner, runner-up and third place teams which is historic. With this initiative of Government of India and State Government, financial help along with proper platform was provided to the players. Asmita Hockey State League is proposed to be organized in selected eight states of the country. It is a matter of pride that Chhattisgarh was given first place in this sequence. * Bilaspur defeated Rajnandgaon in the final match*

The final match played between Bilaspur and Rajnandgaon in the hockey stadium this afternoon was a very tough one in which Bilaspur defeated Rajnandgaon by 6-4 goals. From the beginning of the match, Bilaspur started putting pressure on Rajnandgaon and in the very first minute Riya Khalkho scored a field goal. Damini Khusro scored in the 7th minute of the match, Priyanka Tilgam in the 15th minute, Riya Khalkho in the 19th minute and 27th minute and Madhu Sidan scored goals. Shyamli Rai and Naina Sonkar scored 1-1 goals and Dubirawat scored 2 goals from Rajnandgaon’s side. Hockey Bilaspur won the final title by defeating Bilaspur by 6-4 goals.

Earlier, in the third and fourth place match, Hockey Jagdalpur defeated Sports Academy Raipur by 2-1 goals in a tough match and secured third position. In this thrilling match, till the half time, both the teams could not score any goal. After the half time, in the 32nd minute of the match, Pratima Koliara scored a goal from Raipur side to take a 1-0 lead, while in the 36th minute of the match, Damini Kashyap scored a goal from Hockey Jagdalpur side to level the score at 1-1. In the 55th minute of the match, Chandravati Netam scored a goal to register a 2-1 win and secured third position. The closing ceremony was conducted by Digvijay Stadium manager Ranvijay Pratap Singh. District Hockey Association secretary Shiv Narayan Dhakheta expressed his gratitude.
