Indore(Team Newsbuddy): The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) conducted early morning raids on Friday at multiple properties linked to Rajesh Parmar, a suspended Assistant Revenue Officer of the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), over allegations of corruption and amassing assets disproportionate to his known income.
Two EOW teams carried out simultaneous search operations at Parmar’s residence in Bijalpur and his relatives’ home in the Kanadiya area. The raids recovered crucial documents, jewelry, bank account details, and cash, and further evaluations of bank accounts, lockers, and other valuables are still underway.
Rajesh Parmar, who began his career in the IMC as a Beldar (worker), was later promoted to Assistant Revenue Officer. During his tenure in government service, he allegedly acquired multiple residential properties in his and his family members’ names. Following an EOW investigation into complaints of disproportionate assets worth crores of rupees, the allegations were found to be prima facie true. Consequently, a case has been registered against Parmar under Sections 7(c), 13(1)(b), and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
The investigation revealed that Parmar and his family own multiple properties, including a two-story house in Bijalpur with a built-up area of 2,600 square feet, a flat in Sanchar Nagar, a plot in Sampat Green measuring 1,600 square feet, a flat in Shreeji Valley, a plot in Uday Nagar, Pipliyahana, a flat in Khushboo Villa, and another in Satellite Valley.
The raids were conducted by an EOW team led by DSPs Nandini Sharma, Madhur Veena Gaur, and Pawan Singhal, along with Inspectors Amod Singh Rathore, Kailashchandra Patidar, Yogendra Singh Sisodia, Rajesh Sahu, Manisha Sharma, and Sanjay Mishra. The search operations were still continuing till filing this report with a detailed evaluation of bank transactions, financial records, and other assets. Further legal proceedings and investigations are expected to follow.
