Indore(Team Newsbuddy): In a bid to provide residents with fresh and hygienic fish while boosting local trade, the Indore Municipal Corporation, in collaboration with the Fisheries Department, has announced plans to construct 80 modern fish parlors across 16 strategic locations in the city. The decision was taken during a high-level meeting held at the Municipal Corporation headquarters, chaired by Health In-charge Ashwin Shukla. Attended by top officials—including Additional Commissioner Abhay Rajnagaonkar, Superintending Engineer D.R. Lodhi, and Health Officer Dr. Uttam Yadav—the meeting focused on finalizing potential sites and discussing the project’s implementation.
The selected locations include prominent areas such as Ranipura Meat Market, beneath Bengali, Teen Imli, and Manikbagh Bridges, near the Ket Hawa Bangla water tank in Zone 08, close to Niranjanpur Vegetable Market, Nandbagh Road, Chandan Nagar, Azad Nagar, Khajrana, Musakhedi, Mhow Naka, near Labariya Bheru Gangwal Bus Stand, Gandhi Nagar, and Modern Chauraha. Further action will depend on the availability of these sites, and local fish vendors will be consulted to ensure the parlors meet community needs.
Officials stressed that the new parlors will not only guarantee access to quality, hygienic fish but also contribute to a more organized and cleaner market environment. The Municipal Corporation and the Fisheries Department are set to expedite the necessary procedures, aiming to enhance the city’s infrastructure and support local businesses.
