Mayor Bhargava affirms uninterrupted funding for future projects
Indore(Team Newsbuddy): In a significant move towards urban development, various projects totaling ₹186.6 million were inaugurated and initiated today at MR-4 Garden in Mahalaxmi Nagar, Ward No. 37. Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava emphasized that no compromises will be made in the development of Ward 37, assuring prompt approval for proposals from local councilors concerning their wards.
Highlighting the strengthened financial position of the Municipal Corporation over the past one and a half years, Mayor Bhargava noted that this year, the corporation generated ₹8 billion in revenue, marking an increase of ₹3 billion compared to the previous year. He proudly stated that the Municipal Corporation no longer needs to rely on state or central government funds for development projects.
Local MLA Mahendra Hardia reported that over the past 18 to 24 months, development works exceeding ₹450 million have been completed in Ward 37. He announced that in the upcoming fiscal year, the main road in Tulsi Nagar will be constructed at an approximate cost of ₹130 million, with approval already granted.
The event also featured addresses by Member of Parliament Shankar Lalwani, Municipal Corporation MIC member Rajesh Udawat, and Councilor Sangeeta Mahesh Joshi, among other dignitaries. Councilor Joshi detailed that the program included the inauguration of completed projects worth ₹1 billion and the groundbreaking for new development works valued at ₹900 million. These initiatives encompass road construction, drainage systems, stormwater lines, gardens, culverts, and other infrastructure developments.
The occasion saw the attendance of numerous community members and leaders, including former Front City President Raghu Yadav, Chhatrasal Mandal President Rambabu Yadav, Ward 36-37 Resident Federation Coordinator K.K. Jha, President Rajesh Tomar, Chhatrasal Mandal General Secretary Shankar Kumawat, All Brahmin Youth Organization Mahalaxmi Nagar Unit President Amit Trivedi, Hariom Yogpeeth Founder Ramesh Patil, Vishwa Hindu Parishad Division’s Krishna Kumar Verma, Narayan Meena, Rakesh Jaiswal, Nirbhay Singh Raghuvanshi, Rupesh Sharma, and Gaurav Dabar.
These developments are part of Indore’s broader infrastructure enhancement efforts, aligning with ongoing projects under the Smart City Mission. Notably, out of 132 projects initiated, 17 are pending completion, with a target to finalize them by March 31, 2025.
