Law students from across India to showcase legal acumen on pressing constitutional and digital law issues
Indore(Team Newsbuddy): The Department of Law at Prestige Institute of Management and Research (PIMR), Indore, is all set to host the 5th Padma Shri Dr. N. N. Jain National Moot Court Competition from April 16 to 18, 2025. This prestigious event will commence with an inaugural ceremony on April 16 at 10 AM and conclude with the valedictory function on April 18 at 4 PM.
Sharing details, Dr. Nishant Joshi, director of the Department of Law, informed that top law colleges from across the country will participate in this three-day legal conclave. Honorable judges from the Supreme Court and various high courts, along with eminent legal professionals, will grace the event as chief guests and special guests.
The theme of this year’s competition revolves around artificial intelligence, digital data protection laws, and the Indian Constitution—issues that lie at the heart of contemporary legal and policy discourse. The competition will be conducted in multiple rounds, including preliminaries, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the grand finale. Attractive cash prizes will be awarded, with the winning team receiving ₹51,000, the runner-up team ₹25,000, and ₹11,000 each for the Best Speaker, Best Researcher, and Best Memorial.
Dr. Joshi emphasized that this national-level moot court is not only a platform for experiential and practical legal learning but also a golden opportunity for networking among law students and legal experts from diverse institutions.
Event coordinators Dr. Gopal Garg and Shreya Pandey added that the competition aims to hone students’ skills in legal analysis, problem-solving, structured argumentation, and ethical legal practice. They noted that the event is a step towards familiarizing aspiring lawyers with real-world court proceedings, professional courtroom demeanor, and practical legal understanding.
