PIMR DOL to host 5th national moot court competition from April 16

Indore (Team Newsbuddy) : The stage is set for an exhilarating showcase of legal talent as the Department of Law at Prestige Institute of Management and Research hosts the 5th Padmashree Dr. N.N. Jain National Moot Court Competition from April 16 to 18, 2025. This prestigious event will feature over 50 teams from across India competing, with esteemed judges and advocates from the Supreme Court and High Courts in attendance as guests. The inaugural ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday and promises a grand start to the three-day event.
Dr. Nishant Joshi, Director of the Department of Law, shared that the opening ceremony will be attended by distinguished guests, including Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla of the Madhya Pradesh High Court as the chief guest, while Anoop Kumar Tripathi, Principal Registrar of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, and Prof. Dr. V.K. Ahuja, Director of the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, will grace the inaugural ceremony as guests of honour. The closing ceremony will feature Justice J.K. Maheshwari of the Supreme Court; former Judge of the Madhya Pradesh and Bombay High Courts, Shantanu Kemkar; and Ajay Bagadia, Nominated Senior Advocate of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
This year’s competition, which is based on artificial intelligence, digital data protection, and the Indian Constitution, will be organized in multiple rounds—preliminary, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the grand finale—offering participants a chance to showcase their legal acumen. Attractive cash prizes await the winners, with ₹51,000 for the champion team, ₹25,000 for the runners-up, and ₹11,000 each for the Best Speaker, Best Researcher, and Best Memorial categories.
Highlighting the event’s significance, Dr. Joshi said “This national moot court competition is a dynamic platform for practical legal education and experiential learning. Beyond honing skills, it fosters invaluable networking opportunities among law students and legal luminaries from across the country.” The event is poised to inspire and elevate the next generation of legal professionals, he added.
