Appeal to save cutting of 8000 trees
Bhopal (Team Newsbuddy): Taking initiative to stop cutting of 8000 trees, the Madhya Pradesh Environment Rights Forum will host tying of “Raksha Sutra” under Chipko Movement on May 18. The event will take place at Ayodhya Bypass (Ratnagiri Square) from 5 pm onwards.
According to well-known environmentalist Dr Rachana David, the step has been taken to oppose letter issued by Principal Secretary Urban Administration, Principal Public Works Department, Principal Secretary Forest Department, Principal Secretary Housing and Environment Department and Deputy Commissioner of Police ordering cutting of 8000 trees for the infrastructure development works in and around the state capital. She said that the government decision will lead to environmental hazards for the citizens state capital, who already reeling under pollution and unhygienic conditions.
Meanwhile, members of the forum including Subhash Pandey, Suyash Kulsherhtha , Sunil Avsarkar, Dr Rajiv Jain, Kamal Rathi, Anshu Gupta, Aruna Sharma and Umashankar Tiwari have unanimously appealed to the people of state capital to join the campaign to save the environment .
