CG girls Anisha, Geeta selected for 4 Nations Hockey Tourney in Argentina

Rajnandgaon(Team Newsbuddy). Anisha Sahu and Geeta Yadav of the state, who are part of the Junior India core team training in Bangalore, have been selected for the 4 Nations Hockey Tournament to be played in Rosario, Argentina. This tour is being done in preparation for the Junior Women’s World Cup 2025 to be held in the coming time. Out of this 24-member team, the best performing players will be selected for the FIH Hockey Junior Women’s World Cup to be held in December. It is known that Anisha Sahu has been a member of the junior team for the last 4 years and Geeta Yadav has also been a member of the Junior India team for the last 2 years and she has made this place on the basis of her sports performance.
Chhattisgarh Hockey President Firoz Ansari said that four countries – Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and India will participate in the 4 Nation Tournament to be held from 25 May to 2 June 2025 (IST) in Rosario, Argentina. The Indian team will play two matches against each participating country to evaluate its performance, assess team combinations and refine strategies.
Before participating in the 4 Nation Tournament to be held from 25 May to 02 June, Ms. Anisha has visited Belgium, Netherlands and Germany, this will be her third tour from the Indian hockey team when she will represent the Junior Women’s India team. Along with this, Geeta Yadav has also achieved this position in a very short time, she has made her place in the team within 2 years, Geeta Yadav has previously visited Netherlands and Belgium.
Chhattisgarh Hockey General Secretary Mr. Manish Srivastava said that it is a matter of great pride that today two daughters of the state are going to play for the country. Geeta Yadav is a resident of village Bodla of Kabirdham district, who was taught to play hockey by her first coach Shiv Singh Chauhan in her early years. After some time, she stayed in Rajnandgaon and learned the art of hockey under the guidance of coach Anuraj Srivastava. After that, she was selected for Khelo India Center Bahtarai Bilaspur. Both the players have represented the state in national competitions on behalf of Chhattisgarh Hockey for the last several years. The entire state is proud of their achievement. In the said tournament, India will play its first match with Chile.
