Indore’s 64th Green Corridor marks another triumph in organ donation

2 min read

Indore(Team Newsbuddy): Indore has once again reaffirmed its legacy of compassion with  transplantation of organs of a 69-year-old brain dead person Tulsi Ram Rawal to two critical  patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals of the city. To facilitate smooth organ transplant and swift transfer of organs, a green  corridor was created here on Wednesday from CHL Care Hospital to Choithram Hospital at 9:00 AM. It was Indore’s 64th green corridor that enabled smooth organ transplant.
On June 16, 69-year-old Ujjain resident Tulsi Ram Rawal, battling a severe brain hemorrhage at Patidar Hospital, Ujjain, was identified as a potential brain death case. Driven by altruism, his family contacted Muskan Group volunteer Jeetu Bagani to facilitate organ donation. Rawal was promptly shifted to CHL Care Hospital, Indore, to initiate the process.
A four-doctor committee confirmed brain death on June 17 at 10:35 AM and 5:30 PM, adhering to strict medical protocols.
Rawal’s kidneys were transplanted into a 45-year-old male at CHL Care Hospital, and the other into a 54-year-old patient at Choithram Hospital. His liver, initially allocated to Jupiter Specialty Hospital, was deferred due to compatibility challenges.
The effort was guided by Indore MP Shankar Lalwani, Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh, and Indore Society for Organ Donation leaders Arvind Ghangheria and Sanjay Dixit. SOTO Madhya Pradesh officers Manish Purohit, Nidhi Sharma, and Shubham Verma ensured seamless execution. Rawal’s sons, Santosh and Shailendra Rawal, and relative Rajesh Pedwa were instrumental, supported by CHL’s Dr. Surendra Singh Parihar and Organ Donation Coordinator Monisha Bagani.
This milestone reinforces Indore’s pioneering role in organ donation, inspiring hope
and humanity through collective action.
