Special campaign to speed up installation of HSRP in MP

Campaign will be run to install high security registration plates in vehicles in all districts

Bhopal (Team Newsbuddy): A special campaign will be run to make it mandatory to install High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) in the registered vehicles of the state. Recently, the Supreme Court has given orders to the state governments to this effect. HSRP number plates are being installed in vehicles registered in the state after April 1, 2019. The Supreme Court has given instructions to speed up the work.

According to the notification of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of the Central Government dated 4 December 2018, it is mandatory to install HSRP plates in all registered vehicles after April 1, 2019. The work of updating data in the vehicle portal is being expedited. The Transport Department has directed the Transport Commissioner to speed up this work. Teams will be formed across the state and the updated status will be recorded on the NIC vehicle portal through the concerned vehicle dealer. A special campaign will be run for this.

Work of changing number plates should be done in three months
The Transport Department has directed the District Transport Officers to complete the work of changing HSRP plates in the next 3 months. It has been said in the instructions that HSRP number plates should be installed in vehicles by keeping in constant touch with all the dealers of your district. It will not be possible for the Pollution Under Control Center to issue certificate, duplicate registration certificate (RC), change address in registration certificate, view RC details by paying fee for vehicles which do not have HSRP. Also, it will not be possible to change the ownership of vehicles, add and remove hypothecation, issue new-duplicate permit, transfer and renewal of permit, issue no objection certificate with taxation authority and cancel vehicle registration.

It has been said in the instructions that motor owners will not be able to avail all the facilities given through Vahan portal along with issuing permanent-temporary permits of vehicles, issuing duplicate fitness certificates, issuing fitness certificates of vehicles, renewing registration of vehicles. The Transport Department has clarified that having HSRP number plate will be recorded in the camera installed under enforcement. This will also help in following road safety. District Transport Officers have also been asked to regularly monitor this work.
