Indore’s transformation: A national model of urban innovation and civic partnership

Indore: Hailed as India’s cleanest city, Indore has now emerged as a national model of smart, sustainable urban development. In just three years, the city has achieved remarkable progress in infrastructure, green energy, digital governance, and public engagement,said Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav while  talking to the media persons , marking completion of his three years in the office. 
Bhargava said that in the past three years over 3,000 projects were completed, including, 635 km of roads, 1,550 km water pipelines, and 350 km of drainage. In addition to this, 23 new bridges worth ₹326 crore were constructed and 450 new waste collection vehicles were purchased.
The Mayor said  that in the past three years, smart governance & Innovation
Indore implemented. Paperless budgeting, digital address system introduced. Integrated traffic management system with e-challans and smart signals
Revenue collection touched a record ₹1,000 crore aided by citizen-friendly schemes. Legacy issues like Hukumchand Mill dues (pending for 32 years) were resolved and 90 acres of land reclaimed.
With focus on public welfare & citizen engagement, health, education, and community, we started 65 Sanjeevani clinics, 45 yoga sheds, 3 public libraries.
1,200 students joined the Internship with Mayor, 10,000 women empowered with driving skills, and 1,000 Traffic Mitras mobilized.
Mayor noted, “These three years reflect a transformative mindset with citizens at the core. Indore is not just clean—it’s a national example of innovation, inclusion, and good governance.”
