Nine Naxalites including six with reward of Rs 24 lakh surrender

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy) :A total of nine Naxalites including six Naxalites with a reward of Rs 24 lakh surrendered. Giving information about this, senior police officials said that the surrendered Naxalites have been given cheques of Rs 50,000 each for rehabilitation under the relevant policy of the Chhattisgarh government.
According to the police, the surrendered Naxalites have been identified as Baksu Oyam (27), Budhram Potam (36), Hidma alias Hiriya (26), Mangu Uika alias Toggi (38), Roshan Karam alias Sonu (24), Mangalon Podiyam (23), Kamalu Hemla alias Kumma (28), Budhram Hemla (47) and Pandru Punem (38). Officials said that Naxalite Baksu Oyam was a party member in Company Number One under Maad Division and a reward of Rs 8 lakh was announced on him. While a reward of Rs 5 lakh each was declared on area committee member Budhram Potam and Hidma alias Hiriya.
Officials said that apart from Mangu Uika, a reward of Rs 2 lakh each was announced on Chinnapalli area committee party member Roshan Karam and Bhairamgarh area committee party member Mangalo Podiyam. They said that the positive dialogue of security forces with the villagers, information about public welfare schemes being given under community policing and wide publicity of surrender and rehabilitation policy of Chhattisgarh government have disillusioned the Naxalites from the Maoist organization.
Along with this, Naxalites are surrendering due to increasing internal differences within the organization and the desire to live a family life by joining the mainstream of the society. Officials said that 310 Naxalites have been arrested in the district since January 1 this year and 277 Maoists have surrendered. A total of 131 Maoists have been killed in different encounters in the district.
