Chhattisgarh hockey team is participating in the 15th Hockey India Junior Girls National Championship Kakinada
Rajnandgaon (Team Newsbuddy): In the 15th Hockey India Junior Girls National Championship going on from 1 to 12 August 2025, Chhattisgarh hockey team performed brilliantly and defeated the Karnataka team and entered the quarter finals.
Giving information, Firoz Ansari, President of “Chhattisgarh Hockey”, said that in the matches played so far, Chhattisgarh team played the first match against Jharkhand in which it had to face defeat, while today the second match was played with Hockey Karnataka in which Chhattisgarh defeated Karnataka by 1 goal against 6 and finished second in its pool.
A total of 30 teams from all over the country are participating in this national competition. The selectors appointed by Hockey India will select 50 players for the national training camp through this championship. Selected players from these will participate in international competitions representing India’s junior girls team.
He told that Chhattisgarh hockey team displayed a brilliant game in the match against Karnataka. Madhu Sidar scored 4 goals and Manisha Patel and Sheetal Yadav scored 1-1 goals from the team. Madhu Sidar was selected as the ‘Best Player of the Match’ for her brilliant performance.
Chhattisgarh hockey team is participating in this national championship with an experienced training team in which head coach Anish Ahmed and Sanjana Sahu are playing the role of manager.
The talented players included in this young girls team of Chhattisgarh include Jyoti Rani, Bhumika Dhankar, Meenakshi Umare, Moulisha Verma, Yashoda, Rukmani, Neha Kumari, Damini Khusro, Madhu Sidar, Parmeshwari Sodhi, Sheetal Yadav, Chetna Rani Das, Aanchal, Keshrani Sahu, Manisha Patel, Dolly Nishad, Neha Dhurve and Shruti Pandey. Sports lovers and sports organisations across the state have congratulated the Chhattisgarh hockey team on this excellent performance.
