Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh issues show cause notice to councilor Anwar Qadri

Ordered to submit reply in Divisional Commissioner Court on 25th August

Indore (Team Newsbuddy). Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh has issued a show cause notice to ward number-58 corporation councilor Anwar Qadri as part of the ongoing action regarding his removal from the post of councilor. The Divisional Commissioner has ordered to submit the written reply to the show cause notice in three copies before the Divisional Commissioner Court on 25th August 2025 at 11 am by appearing in person or through his legal representative along with documentary evidence. It has been written in the notice that in case of not presenting the written reply by appearing in person or through legal representative in the hearing on the scheduled date and time, unilateral further action will be taken in the case as per law.

It is noteworthy that Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava has sent a letter along with necessary documents to the Divisional Commissioner on 20 June 2025, in which it has been written to take action to remove Councilor Shri Anwar Qadri from the post of Councilor. As per the documents attached, several sedition and criminal cases have been registered against Anwar Qadri in police stations, and it has been mentioned that he has a criminal tendency. It has also been written that news has been published against Qadri in various daily newspapers that Qadri gave money (funding) to youths of a particular community to promote love jihad and motivated the youths to promote love jihad. Apart from this, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) Urban Police Indore has also submitted a report to the Divisional Commissioner, according to which criminal cases have been registered against Anwar Qadri in various police stations and crime number 799/2025 and 800/25 under Section 64, 64 (2) (M) 351 (3) BNS and 3/5 Religious Freedom Act has been registered and is under consideration in Police Station Banganga Indore, and Additional Commissioner of Police Amit Singh has also issued a proclamation of Rs. 20,000 for arrest of Anwar Qadri or information provided.

In the show cause notice issued to Anwar Qadri by Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh, it has been written that due to this act of yours, goodwill in the city has been hurt and you have worked to spoil the communal atmosphere in the city. Why should action not be taken against you for the said act as per Section 19 (1) (A) of Madhya Pradesh Municipality Act 1956.
The Divisional Commissioner has ordered Anwar Qadri to present his reply to the show cause notice in the Divisional Commissioner’s Court on 25th August at 11 AM either in person or through his legal representative.

More than 20 cases are registered in 10 police stations

Divisional Commissioner Singh started investigating the matter after the letter given by Mayor Bhargava. Information was sought from the concerned officials. In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner of Police issued a letter seeking information about all the cases related to Anwar Qadri.

According to the information received from the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Anwar Qadri father Mohammad Aslam Qadri alias Anwar has a case registered under section 392 of the IPC in Mahakal Ujjain police station as well as in various police station areas of Indore city. Apart from this, 7 cases have been registered in Sanyogitaganj police station of Indore city, 4 in Sadar Bazaar police station, 3 in Khajrana, 2 in Banganga, 2 in Chandan Nagar police station, 1 case each under various sections in Juni Indore, Sarafa, Chhoti Gwaltoli and MG Road police station.
