Mhow: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reaffirmed India’s unwavering commitment to national security, declaring that while the country has no claim over others’ land, it is prepared to go to “any extent” to defend its borders.
Speaking at the Ran Samvad 2025 seminar at the Army War College, Singh emphasised that India’s global respect stems not only from its strength but also from its civilisational values of truth, peace, and justice. He said national security is a collective responsibility, in which scientists, industrialists, and teachers play as critical a role as soldiers by contributing through technology, weapons, and education.
Underlining the shift in the nature of warfare, Singh said modern conflicts now extend beyond land, sea, and air into space and cyberspace. He stressed the significance of satellite systems, anti-satellite weapons, and cyber capabilities, calling for strategies that are flexible and technology-driven.
The Defence Minister announced the release of the Joint Doctrine for Multi-Domain Operations and the Technology Perspective & Capability Roadmap, asserting that technology, when combined with strategy and adaptability, will be vital for India’s rise as a global power.
The two-day seminar, themed “Impact of Technology on Warfare”, featured discussions on unmanned systems, cyber threats, and military preparedness. Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan reminded participants that while India is peace-loving, it is not passive. “The enemy must not mistake our readiness for weakness,” he said, citing lessons from Operation Sindoor.
Singh urged for unity and commitment to take India to new heights by 2047, reiterating that protecting sovereignty is the shared responsibility of the entire nation.
