Government to dissolve Rajeev Mitan Club

Raipur. During the budget session of Chhattisgarh Assembly, there was a lot of uproar over the then government’s scheme ‘Rajiv Mitan Club’. Earlier, there was already a possibility of uproar in the House over various issues.

In the beginning of the session itself, members of the ruling party were seen vocal about Rajeev Mitan Club. MLA Dharamjit Singh raised questions on Rajeev Mitan Club and called it ‘eat-drink scheme’ of Congress.

Similarly, BJP MLAs Dharamlal Kaushik, Ajay Chandrakar and Rajesh Munat also raised serious questions on the expenses of Rajeev Mitan clubs. There was a heated argument between the party and the opposition regarding misuse of money in this scheme.

In this regard, the departmental minister said that earlier an amount of Rs 126 crore was given to the club, which will be investigated. It was also told that earlier a provision of a total amount of Rs 132 crore was made. During the discussion, Dharamjeet Singh sarcastically called it an eat and drink scheme. Members of the Bharatiya Janata Party also raised slogans in the House demanding the scrapping of this scheme. Amidst this uproar, departmental minister Tankram Verma announced that it will be audited and Yuva Mitan Club will be dissolved.
