Lecture programme on science , spirituality organized at NIT Raipur
1 min readRaipur. A lecture programme on science and spirituality was organized at the National Institute of Technology Raipur in the e-hall of the institute. It was organized under the joint aegis of National Institute of Technology Raipur and Vivekananda Manav Seva Prakarsh Sansthan. In this informative programme Swami Sarvotmanand, Monastic Faculty and Vice Chancellor of the Computer Science Department of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University, Belur, was the chief guest speaker. In this program, the director in-charge of the institute, Dr. A. B. Soni, Registrar Dr. P.Y. Dhekne, Dr. O. P. Verma, Dean (Academic) Dr. Shreesh Verma, Dean (Student Welfare) Dr. Nitin Jain, Associate Dean (Academic) Dr. Subhankar Bhowmik, Dr. Govardhan Bhatt, other faculty members and students were present.
The programme started with the national anthem and Saraswati Vandana. After this, Dr. Soni greeted Swamiji with his speech and also congratulated him for lecturing on this wonderful topic in the institute. Dr. Shreesh Verma gave a brief description about Swamiji and invited him on the stage to give a speech. In his lecture, Swamiji discussed the three fundamental questions of science, what, why and how. Swami Sarvotmananda spoke about the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing the symbiotic existence of both science and spirituality. Through Swamiji’s exploration of Upanishadic concepts such as Pratyaksha (perception) and Anuma (reasoning), Swami Sarvotmananda highlighted the idea of being logical in following dharma. Swami Swasthyamananda stressed that science cannot explain everything, but it must incorporate aspects of spirituality for the understanding of existence.
