Indore:(Team Newsbuddy) : The pre-launch event of the eagerly awaited three-day Indore International Film Festival, scheduled from March 14 to 16, commenced with a burst of energy and excitement as Bollywood Day – Star Flix 2.0 unfolded at the UG campus of the Prestige Institute of Management. The campus pulsated with vibrant performances, as students dazzled the audience with soulful renditions and dynamic flash mobs choreographed to the beats of Bollywood’s iconic tunes.


Adding to the allure, faculty and students showcased their fashion flair on the ramp, donning extravagant ensembles that epitomized Bollywood’s trademark elegance. The evening was further enriched by a mesmerizing musical mashup, captivating the audience’s senses and setting the tone for the festivities ahead. Notably, the best-dressed students and faculty members were duly recognized and honored for their style and flair.
The unveiling of the IIFA Dangler, a symbol of prestige and anticipation for the Indore International Film Festival, marked a pivotal moment in the event. The ceremony was attended by PIMR Senior Director Dr. Debashish Malik, UG Campus Director Col. Dr. S. Raman Iyer, Deputy Director Prateek Sharma, Registrar Salil Sen Gupta, and a large number of faculties and students.
Dr. Debashish Malik, Senior Director of PIMR PG Campus, and Col. Dr. S. Raman Iyer, UG Campus Director, provided a glimpse into the upcoming festival, highlighting the star-studded inaugural ceremony set to take place on March 14 at Phoenix Citadel Mall. The presence of acclaimed film actor Annu Kapoor as the chief guest promises to elevate the event to new heights, alongside special guests including the talented Manish Wadhwa, Arya Sharma, Brijendra Kala, and esteemed French actress Marianne Bourgou.
The festival promises a diverse range of events, from the screening of locally produced films to a captivating Sufi Night, followed by an exhilarating Open-Air Theater experience and a high-octane DJ night featuring international sensation DJ Olly on March 16. Attendees can also look forward to engaging in competitions and master classes, offering invaluable insights into the dynamic world of cinema.


Dr. Mallik reiterated the festival’s commitment to nurturing talent and imparting practical knowledge about the film industry to students, underscoring its significance in shaping future filmmakers and industry professionals.
In a heartfelt tribute, Colonel Dr. S. Raman Iyer announced the posthumous honoring of late luminaries who have made lasting contributions to the cultural landscape. The late Ustad Aamir Khan will receive the Swar Shraddha award, accepted by his son, noted actor Shahbaz Khan, while the legendary poet Dr. Rahat Indori will be remembered with the ‘Immortal Literary Tribute,’ accepted by his son, Sutlej Indori.
The festival will also celebrate excellence across various fields, with classical vocalist Gautam Kale receiving the Musical Ambassador for Change in Society Award and Sudhanshu Sharma, director of ‘Love All,’ being honored with the Stellar Award in Direction. Additionally, veteran actor Annu Kapoor will be bestowed with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
Dr. Zuber Khan, the coordinator of the event, unveiled the Padma Shri Dr. N.N. Jain 48-Hour Film-Making Competition, challenging students to unleash their creativity and craft compelling narratives within a tight timeframe. Furthermore, the festival will showcase a diverse array of films from both local and international domains, promising a cinematic feast for attendees with acclaimed works such as ‘Village Rockstar,’ ‘Veitch Color,’ ‘Compass’ from Indonesia, ‘Dear Soul’ from Mongolia, and ‘Two Way’ from Korea.
