NIT Raipur , CSIR-CRRI sign MoU for Institutional Collaboration

Raipur. In a significant move towards fostering collaboration and enhancing research opportunities, the National Institute of Technology, Raipur (NIT Raipur) and CSIR-CRRI, New Delhi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 27th February 2024 by Dr (Prof.) N. V. Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Raipur and Dr (Prof.) Manoranjan Parida, Director, CSIR-CRRI, New Delhi in the presence of Dr. S. Velmurugan, Chief Scientist, CSIR-CRRI New Delhi, Dr. Rajesh. K. Tripathi, Dean (Planning & Development), Dr. P. Diwan, Dean (Research & Consultancy), and Dr. D. Sanyal, Dean (Faculty Welfare) of NIT Raipur along with the MoU Nodal officers, faculty members and Scientists from the institutions.

The primary objective of this MoU is to establish cooperation and collaboration between NIT Raipur and CSIR-CRRI New Delhi with the aim of advanced collaborative research in the areas of Transportation Infrastructure, Architecture and Urban Planning. By, leveraging their intellectual capabilities, the faculties and scientists of the institution will work together to develop skill enhancement system for research and teaching to the needs of the industry.
Under the terms of MoU, the two institutions have agreed to share their important R&D facilities through a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) ensuring the protection of generated intellectual property. The institutions will explore opportunities of joint research projects and seek external funding for them. The institutes will actively engage in delivering training to bridge the gap and make the students industry-ready. Necessary support and assistance will also provided by the institutes for internships and placements. Joint academic activities will be formulated such as short-term courses, training programmes, seminars, access to workshops and conferences based on mutual interest and available expertise in both the institutions.

The agreement is valid initially for 5 years and may be extended by the mutual consent of both the parties.
The signing of MoU reflects the commitment of both the institutions to promote excellence in technical education, research and industry collaboration. This strategic partnership will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and development of both institutions and benefiting the students scientists, faculties and the industry at large.
